Coming up August 19 and 20. The 20th is the main event. Sounds like they're on the track at 9 but I imagine that's for a few practice laps. Racing probably starts 10 ish.

Matt and I plan to go. I think Ian is trying to fit it in too. I have a buddy from work who wants to go as well. He's from Columbia and raced there for 20 years. He's raced against many of the current and ex South American racers like Roberto Moreno and Juan Pablo Montoya. In fact, he's a good friend of Montoya's father...Fascinating fellow and a true gentleman...

For those who haven't heard of it, this is the one event all year where the vintage racers pull out the Ford GT40's, the Sunbeams, the Minis, the Jaguars, Porsches, MG's and yes, even a T/A 'Cuda or Challenger or whatever it is... There are also some open wheel vintage cars. There might even be a Volvo or two.

It's as much fun to walk through the pits as it is to watch them on the track...

We just got in from a rather soggy few days of camping. If I am around for that weekend I will be there for sure

Yeah...nothing on the Race City website...it's a "private" event. It's put on by the Vintage Sports Car Club of Calgary...might find something on their website. From what I can find out, gates open at 8. Track time for competitors until 9 and then time trials start at 9. I plan to be there around 9. I think Ben is coming with me too...

Look forward to seeing you there.

Bring a lawn chair if you don't want to sit on those hard bleachers for a few hours...
