Cool. Thanks for the clarification Matt.
If you do decide to sell any of that stuff, I am definitely interested. I remember coveting that uncracked dash!
Also, (forgive me if I missed reading something up top) are you selling your RX-7 oil cooler by any chance? I have a buyer if you are.
Thanks,
Greg

Just a feeler, but would anyone be interested in my T5 transmission and driveshaft? I'd need $700 CAD for them both.

No, but the T5 probably won't take the power I'm hoping the 850 motor will make, and the gearing in the T5 is more suited for an 8 valve tractor motor than a peaky 20 valve.

This transmission was treated (by me) to a Ford Motorsport rebuild kit, including new synchros, bearings, roller bearings, shifter dogs, and a steel input shaft bearing support. $350 worth of parts alone, plus a $250 driveshaft and the transmission that cost me $300.

I'm going to post it on Tbricks, but at a higher $$$. It's local incentive, 'cause I really don't want to ship this thing.

Thread from the dead.

Okay, so lots has happened over the last year. Long story short, I've repossessed the car and I am working on it for the next week. It must leave my garage on Saturday morning, whether it goes to a new home or to be crushed, which is looking like the likely destination as it sits.

The car is in worse shape than it was when I gave it up last year: the rad support crossmember is somewhat mangled, the grille support panel is quite deformed, and the rear quarter has been pushed towards the trunk a little - not that you'd see it, but the trunklid now hits that side where it didn't before. Pretty much to be expected, as it's travelled further on a tow truck in the past year than it did under it's own power for the two years previous, I'm sure.

The car will be missing it's greasable poly-bushed, reinforced suspension arms, front struts, etc. It will be missing the true-trac and gears. It will be missing the windshield. It will be missing the seats. It will be missing the dash cap if Greg still wants it. It still has door panels, much of the dash, carpets, side and rear glass, 5 panel DOT tails in so-so shape, a semi-decent fuel tank (you could smell fuel when it was full, but that might have been a fitting or a leaky hose - I never looked) It still has half-decent doors (most of them are half-decent, anyway) and formal hood.

You folk have until SATURDAY MORNING, Jan 12, to let me know what you want, at which point the car goes off to Navajo. I won't be able to work on it Monday or Thursday, and if you want anything major I'll get you to come over & pull it yourself (except for Greg and the dash cap)

Stay tuned for a 240 parts sell-off.

Hot damn, I'm gonna be watching this.

Matt, thanks for thinking of me with the dash. I did pull one off a wreck a few months back, but I may still be interested in another. I'd like a spare.

5-panels you say? If a local yokel doesn't want them, I do, being the aftermarket doesn't make them and I am still crying over selling my NOS ones that I shouldn't have sold...now that I have a 5-panel tail DL and they are my favorite style light.

This thread is sad, but I hope you can move on. I'm in the midst of the same with my "puke machine" parts car basically now that I have a nice car, but it is easier in some ways for me...I'm attached to my DL, even if I put a lot of work into the other shell, I learned a lot, and the shell itself doesn't matter *that* much to me. It makes me sad, as I never got to see this car actually run. But, you have a blue 780, so hey, there are other avenues for a pimp mobile than getting a 244 with chromie trim from a good friend, but it is a tall order.

Well, I said so-so shape. Meaning, they were not busted & cracked. At least, that was the last time I saw them. Apparently my memory is fading, because so are the taillights. That, and the driver's side brake light has a small round hole in the lens. I'm pretty sure the fade can be fixed with some polish & clearcoat. I'll have another look at them today & let you know better how bad they are.
