I vote for option 1 to begin with. That will likely be where my participation ends. If some of the youngsters want to go out for some "nightlife" later, I'll likely bow out...

Has anyone been to the Cattle Baron? From what I hear the beef is very good.

Edit...just looked at the menu. Some of the stuff is expensive. Regular cut "chef's special" prime rib is $21.95. You should be able to have dinner and a drink for under $30. Not too outrageous. Starts to get a bit expensive if you bring your family though...

If anyone can't afford it right now, I'll cover and you can pay me back later, when you have a few $...

Edit #2...We need to decide this pretty quickly and then make reservations...whatever we decide to do...

Great idea Dale, and I will probably be keeping a similar agenda to you, let the young ones stay out late and have a good time. $$ wise I can also help and loan those poorer ones, and Mike, of course, will be our guest for dinner.

Wow, I'm a member of a Canadian Volvo forum and ya'll seem to like me!

Anyways, I'll need to know if this is a nice resturant, therefore I dress properly or whatever. Thanks for really putting your heads together and coming up with something awesome. It'll be really cool to meet all of you as well.

I can't wait! It's already Monday, woo hoo!

Anyone want some citrus from Florida (Wonder if I could bring that in with me), or anything for that matter. I can't bring Disneyland, I don't think it would pass through customs.

I doubt that you can bring fruit across the border.

Hey, welcome eh

Dress code in Calgary is .... clothes  . No really with the exception of the top end restaurants anything reasonable goes, and we cannot afford the top end restaurants. I think for something to bring, how about some Florida weather (the nice stuff not the hurricanes), although I know some of the young members would like a Spring Break girl

Haha, I'd rather see the snow, as this will be my first time. Anyways, it's 81 Farenheit here today, and it sucks. Alright, I'll bring clothes and try to figure out this whole layering thing.

Ian, you always have great ideas!

Unfortunatly, I didn't see much snow in Calgary last weekend. But once you'll be in the mountains, it will be better.

what time are we talking here? i'm down for dinner, but i have an early flight to vancouver on friday so I can't stay long/late. Isn't there a montana's out that way, just as a less expensive option? i'll go with the concensus though...

Mike's flight arrives at 4:30 and he wants to go to the hotel first. I will probably pick him up around 5:30 so if we plan to meet at the restaurant at around 6:00.

I don't remember Montana's being any cheaper :?: and I know I was not impressed with it last time I ate there. But I, like you Athal, will go where the consensus is. (my vote is for the Cattle Baron)

I wasn't impressed with Montana's the one time I was there. I wouldn't mind some good prime rib. Hell, we could bring him down to Smugglers for about the same price as Cattle Barons...

My vote is for Cattle Barons. Never been there. Heard good things about it...

And...it's about 2 blocks from Mike's hotel.
