I got what looks to be a message from an ebay user "betzross", saying that they Paypal'd me $6700 for a Kawasaki Ninja zx636rr, and where is the bike I promised? I checked eBay for the auction number, and indeed it comes up with a Kawasaki Ninja zx636rr for sale, and it sold for $6701 in December. I also did a search on betzross and the name came up, but it was changed a couple days ago to something else. Betzross never bid on this bike, though. When I hover over any of the links on the email page, it wants to take me to the same Google link... you figure I should click it?

Edit - Aha! What appeared at first to be an Ebay login site came back flagged by my Phishing scanner as a reported Phishing website!

next time.. forward the email to me so i can deal with him. I have the contact phone numbers for NOC's around the world and can get local authorities to deal with these folks.

Yeah...they produce a page identical to the eBay page. The login looks the same too. I got caught out by that. My computer recognizes eBay and automatically puts in my password. On this login it didn't. Before I realized it, I had typed my password and hit enter. About 15 seconds later, I changed my password...

Had a similar thing happen to me. I was bidding on a bike and lost because the reserve was not met. Later that afternoon i received an email saying i had a second chance offer. Hit the link, logged in and replied i wanted the bike. Was only seconds away from paypaling the chivas when i realized i didn't recognize the name of the auctioner. Close call for not paying attention and letting the excitement get the best of me.

Good eye.
