Who's using it in their cooling system?

Does the lack of minerals assist in cooling at all?

not sure about helping with cooling...but i am pretty sure it assists with preventing mineral deposit build-up in the coolant system

i used whatever bottled water i have around the house at the time

ciao

I use distilled.
As Vik says, does not reall help cooling but prevents deposits building up in the cooling system. Cheap by the gallon at any grocery store

I read somewhere recently that distilled water on its own is not recommended. I don't even remember where that was or in what context. I think it was in that thread on T'Bricks where some racing series had a rule of water only as coolant...

Hmmm, interesting. So just not plain distilled on its own.

What does this Water Wetter do?

Thanks for all the responses guys. I'm taking the day off work today to put my car back on the road. Gonna change the rad, fill up the ATF and coolant and (hopefully) I'm rolling!

Let me know when your rolling - I'm not playing hockey tonight and can't wait for the test drive.

Distilled water is highly reactive to other elements (it will absorb all the cations you throw at it - that's why you don't drink the stuff), but has the general properties of water. Most of the stuff sold in stores is de-ionized not distilled.

Because there is nothing disolved in distilled water it can actuallt act like a solvent, disolving metals inside the engine. you are right that you should always use it along with A/F
