It's finally dawned on me that I'm not going to get my engine in for the PNW trip, so I'm keeping my eyes open for an easy way to swap my 12B Mitsu out for my 60/63 Garrett. For that, I'll need an oil feed pipe (I think any year will do, so long as it's for a Garrett, but preferrably '85-87 B230FT) and drain pipe (definitely has to be for a B230FT/Garrett combo).

Plsthx.

I've got the lines somewhere in my bin o junk. However, the return doesn't work quite right with the 90+ mani as I'm sure you know. I elected to use a braided line off the front of the block as servicing the inevitably leaky crush washers and removing the turbo with the stock feed annoys me.
Anyway, I'll search. I know I've parted a couple 740s with garretts.

No, I didn't know the 90+ and early Garrett return didn't work together. That's okay, though, 'cause I would be using the early mani this time, to keep things simple and not tie up my 90+ since I only have the one.

Ok, cool. Well, it is yours for free+ shipping or shipping+ a beer or something if a local yokel doesn't have such a beastie. How soon do you need em if you can't find em a few blocks away?

To anyone else rooting through a bin of junk, you are looking for a return line that is the same diameter all the way through basically. The mitsu 13C line is really pretty narrow and widens as it meets the block. Same, but maybe a little less extreme with the 12B. You are looking for a return line that enters the block pretty far back, is large diameter and has the garrett T3 flange (largest of the turbos on volvos) where it meets the turbo. Also, 87+ is a little different, as it snakes around the remote oil filter/cooler found on 87+ cars with hydraulic motor mountings with tighter radius bends IIRC. I might have to mock it up on the junker 87 B230FT i have just to make sure as I can't always spot an 87+ garrett line by looking, but do remember a slight difference.

Edit: T3s came on sedans with slushboxes up to 89. You often will find one on 87-89 760/780T. Wagons and stick shift cars often got the 12B with the slightly larger exhaust housing, much like foard did with the turbo coupe.

The feed is pretty easy to spot too.

Yeah, the flange on the 90+ is pushed out slightly I want to say. IIRC the return wouldn't seat comfortably, so mine is spliced. (also a 60/63 in a "stock" granny series).

Sorry for the long windedness,
-James

No problem. I missed this post yesterday, for some reason, but would you ship 'em over to me if you've got a set? Nobody here has any, that I know of. I don't need 'em *TODAY* but if they came comfortably before PNW I'd be able to do the turbo swap & build a downpipe. If not, I'll just raise the boost and fuggetaboutit.

Ok, no problem. I am busy and won't be able to dig em out for another week realistically. So, you want an 87+ garrett oil line that snakes around the remote oil filter arm thingy?
