If the light is on all the time then it is the sender which is a common failure.

About an oil pressure gadge, is there a place on the block I can hook one up, or how does this work with a 85 244 DL? Thanks again for all the help from everyone here.

The oil pressure gauge sending unit replaces the idiot light switch but...what engine does it have? A B21 or B23 will be a simple deal. If it's a B230, the sender has a different thread and they aren't nearly so plentiful.

I have a bunch of senders and gauges for 240 series B21/23 cars...

I don't know what engine it has, how do I find out what engine it has, sorry I am really new to volvo.

It'll be marked on the block, just below the distributor. Should say Bxx as in B21, B23 or B230.

Is it fuel injected or does it have an SU carb on it?
