well, as most of you know ive recently aquired a mercedes 300d as a daily driver (more on that later, i still have to pick it up) So, the 245, being worth absoloutley nothing as far as resale goes, is now to become a dedicated rallycross car.

what I have for the car so far:

- volvo D cam, similar to a K, with less lift
- Turbo rebuild kit, tdo4h 13c compressor and 15g hotside.
- Newish kyb gr2 fronts and gas-ad-justs for the rear (thanks alex)
- volvo GT springs (thanks craig)
- 23mm front sway for now (thanks dale)
- 940 turbo fuel pump
- g80 locker
- 3 inch downpipe
- NAW wideband
- turbo xs BOV

What it has so far:

- 93 b230ft
- 90+
- a badly smoking turbo
- clutchnet clutch disk, 740 turbo pp
- 4 bar fpr
- greentops
- 17psi
- studded 175/70/r14 Hankook IPike rc001's on neon green gt wheels (these are awesome)
- shot suspension
- shot wheelbearings
- shot bushings

what i need

- bushings
- sways (25/23)
- wagon overloads
- bearings
- integra front seats

the plan

- strip it
- install all the stuff I have
- cut up downpipe and run it straight out the fender. (no muffler/cat)
- rebuild turbo
- build seat brackets, maybe add harnesses.

- RACE! starting feb 14th :)

heres a pic of what it looks like (minus the wheels)

I lucked out finding some brand new lights in the JY, they actually work ok considering the crappy design.

You also see more light on the ground because of the camera exposure, Im using a DSLR.

LOL!

it's something to do with the pcv system and hard turning to that one side, I don't really care and neither does the car, however... I will probably fix it before the next event, and possibly try and do some more clever trickery with the suspension

Don't think we are going to have it done by then, but there is a happy BPZE motor to plop into the assfire at my good friends house :) 60hp->127hp

for those who don't know, the bpze is a ridiculously common mazda motor with aluminium finned oil pan, squirters, forged internals and a well flowing DOHC head and 1800cc's of 7800rpm fury, apparently they love being turbo'd.

Apparently found in the '91 to '96 Escort GT too...

Quote:
The 1,839 cc (1.839 L; 112.2 cu in) BP is a dual-overhead variant of the B8. It was first found in the 1989 Mazda Familia and American-market 1990 Mazda Protege LX. This engine was dubbed BP-ZE and featured a forged crankshaft, piston oil squirters, a structural aluminum oil pan with cooling fins, and Variable Inertia Charging System (VICS). This particular variant can be found in the following vehicles:
1989-1994 Mazda Familia GT (European & Australian Market)
1989-1994 Ford Laser TX3 (Australian Market)
1990-1994 Mazda Protege LX (with VICS)
1990-1991 and 1993 Mazda Protege GT (Canadian Market)
1990-1993 Mazda 323 (European Market)
1992-1993 Ford Escort LX-E
1991-1996 Ford Escort GT
1991-1996 Mercury Tracer LTS
1995-1997 Kia Sephia LS, GS
1995-1997 Kia Sephia RS
1994-1998 Mazda Familia (Japanese Market)
1994-1997 Mazda MX-5/Miata (this did not have VICS until 1999)
There is also a non-performance version that is most easily recognized by its black stamped-steel oil pan. It also features a cast crankshaft, no oil squirters, a plastic oil pickup tube and less aggressive camshafts. It is found in the 1995-1998 Mazda Protege ES.

I wont be out on the 14th, the car is far from done, it's been sitting in the compound for the winter due to lack of working space but the engines all ready to go in, we hope to have it done by summer.
