Definitely!
I actually don't mind the Torque Thrusts on that dark grey car Craig. Part of it is that they're colour matched though. A lot will depend on how sporty you want the car to look. The second silver set of wheels on the Vox car are my favourites actually. While the BBS LM's look great on that car, I don't think the black is as good. I think you should aim for as much dish as possible, and keep the size at a 17". Part of me thinks the an old school mesh wheel won't look right on your car, but there's only one way to find out. Give me a call if you want me to bring my wheels over.

I agree with Greg, those color matched Torque Thrusts look amazing on that car. Not blingy at all, just very classy and all together looking. That said I also agree that the mucho polished lip on the BBS is what you want if you're looking to hit one out of the park. If the car stays white then do the mesh in charcoal, or even black, to contrast the white and accent the polished lip. I really like Pegs, and they are my first choice for the 745 down the road, but they did nothing for me on that 122? The Panasports are nice and have the retro look, but they are fairly common and won't make the car pop like the BBS or even the TT's. Can't say that the Vox's moved me either, like the lips, just not crazy about the scalloped spokes too busy looking. Oh, and the BBS rivets jump out too; so, polished lips, rivets, classic mesh, what's not to like?

Very strange - I know I replied from my phone this morning, but not only is it not showing up here, the Admin log reassures me that nobody deleted it.

The Salt Flats are my pick, but they're also what I'm hoping to run on my car (if I can afford them when the time comes) so I'm going to keep my mouth shut. I also like the Gasser wheels but feel that they'd still only look good on the front of an old school hot rod.

Dale's right about the VOX car - it looks fantastic no matter what wheels they pick, even though I don't like either of them on the car. The first set would look better on anything not quite so classic looking, the second set I'm not sure about at all. They're only mildly exciting because of the dish in the rear. I wonder if when you're done, you'll have the same benefit - the car will look amazing with whatever wheels it's wearing.

The Pegs do about as much for me as those '80s wheels or the holed centerlines: nothing at all. The Panasports... yeah, fine, but on something that stays vintage looking, unless you're going for a Trans-Am-style look and include massive width & deep offsets, no center caps, double-ended lug nuts and long studs, etc.

The grey "torq-thrusts" are Mustang wheels, as I'm sure you know, and I actually prefer the V6 version:

How about something a bit less common, like Kodiak or Forgeline?

There is a set of BMW Style 5 wheels in Edmonton...staggered 8/9"

They are silver, but here they are in a gold centre on a 5 series.

It has to be low to look right, but I'm setting the front suspension to do that. No worries Matt - you've got dibbs on the Salt Flats. I've looked at the Kodiak's, I'm just not sure.

Here's the one that I like from Kodiak - won't be cheap, but whatever. At least I can order what I need instead of adapting stuff.

Here they are on Rob Prince's 242

Or something like this one from Kodiak again, with a gold centre.

I like the gold as it stands out...it's hard to get a nice wheel noticed on a white car.

I agree, the gold on a white car is the way to go. I think getting something custom like the Kodiaks will be easiest in some ways, although risky if you get it wrong. I prefer the first style over the second that you posted Craig, but I also like all the wheels Matt posted (especially those 2nd Forgelines), as well as the style 5's. Getting something like those would look pretty good I figure. But, it really depends how sporty you want your car to look. You're going to lose any real classic appeal in those wheels, but the style 5's are putting your car more into the 80-90's in terms of appeal. The Forgelines would be much more modern. I think dish is almost as important as centre on these wheels.....high offset wheels look kinda silly, especially the Pegs. Ugh. I've almost never seen them look good on an older car.

Who knew there was a third set of wheels on the Vox car? Looks like the greats can't decide either.

What's going on here?

Whoa! That's the first time I've seen the Vox with those wheels. Don't mind those either.

Ya, I kind of like those ones as well. It's still a 19" wheel...I may go for an 18" (18 X 7" front and 18 X 8" rear) and I wish I knew who makes it...is there an ap for that?

OOOOOO!!! Wheel recognizing app. That would be killer!
Oh maaaaan, how swweet would it be it own that! I knew it was for sale, but damn that's a lot of money I don't have. There was a thread on TB about it a while back, and I remember Captain Bondo moaning about how much money they were asking, saying he could do it for cheaper. I could only shake my head. I suspect its worth every penny they're asking.

How many pennies was it?? Those wheels in the video would look good, no gold center but lot's of lippage.

Yup. I've seen that video many times. It's a damn quick show car. As soon as the turbo spools, that thing is gone.
